The women’s group at Salem is a society for any woman of Salem who is a communicant member. Our purpose is to promote pleasant relations between the members of the church, to assist with activities as needed within the church, and to help in various community projects and WELS sponsored organizations.
Besides handling or assisting many activities throughout the year, our group maintains Christian greetings cards for purchase; we collect Super One receipts…using the cash rebates to stock the kitchen with coffee products, paper supplies, etc.; we save Box Tops for Schools and Labels for Education for Apache school in Arizona;we sponsor and send out materials under the Strong Roots and Tender Shoots program for Salem’s baptized children…birth to four years of age; we handle getting the flowers ordered for the altar; and we assist with any ‘Sunday Fellowships’ when requested by a member.
Our group is quite busy throughout the year. We encourage any ladies of Salem that has time to assist the work of the Women’s Service Group to please consider doing so…no help is too small!
The Women’s Service Group generally meets the fourth Thursday of the month at 1:00 p.m.
May God continue to bless the service that the ladies at Salem so willingly give.
